New ML Machine Custom Build
The machine learning rig
When I heard that graphics cards were available again, I knew it was time to build my dream machine: a powerful computer that can handle even the most demanding machine learning tasks.
After some research, I decided to go all in and buy not one but two of the best graphics cards on the market - the RTX 3090 Ti. These cards are incredibly fast and are specifically designed to be able to handle machine learning and data processing tasks. The RTX 3090 Ti has 10,752 CUDA cores clocked at 1860 MHz which yields an FP32 performance of ~40 TFLOPs.
I finally got every together from MicroCenter as well as my custom water cooling blocks. and I got to work assembling my new machine. It took some time and patience, but in the end, I had my dream computer sitting under my desk. I couldn’t wait to try it out and see how it performed with the data I had gathered from my hives.
The first thing I noticed was just how fast this computer was. I had never experienced anything like it before. Even when running multiple machine learning models simultaneously, the computer barely broke a sweat.
Overall, I am thrilled with my new ML rig. I am excited to see what I can pull from the data I will be collecting from my bee hives.
